Description

MSD designed this 8558 Crank Trigger Distributor for Tall Deck Chevy big block engines using a Crank Trigger Ignition. The Low-Profile cap allows this distributor to fit tight intake systems as well as transfer the high voltage of the MSD racing ignition to the spark plugs.

A large diameter cap with wide spaced terminals as well as an injection molded Rynite rotor with thick vanes stir up the air inside the cap. The high dielectric Rynite base also prevents arcing to the billet housing.

The unique slip collar design allows it to fit in most tall block engines that have had the deck height modified. The housing is CNC-machined from billet aluminum to exact tolerances. For stability well over 10,000 RPM, a sealed ball bearing as well as a long-sintered bushing supports the .500″ steel shaft.

This distributor is 4.625 – 5.4375 tall from the engine to the top of the distributor cap.

Must be used with either an MSD 6, 7 or 8-series ignition.
