Description
RAM designed their 1527 Billet Steel Flywheel for 1962-1997 Ford Windsor applications. CNC-machined from certified materials, this precision ground billet steel 157-tooth flywheel is recommended as a replacement for factory cast flywheels in high performance as well as racing vehicles.
Heavy flywheels store more energy than a light flywheel as they spin. If your car bogs the motor during launch, you need a heavier flywheel. Please note that a heavier flywheel will be slower to accelerate through the gears.
Lighter flywheels create less inertia at launch, but accelerate quicker through the gears. To be effective, take car weight, operating RPM and gearing into consideration when making your choice. Too little gear will cause the engine to nose over or bog on launch.
