This ARP 135-4303 BBC Head Stud Kit is for Brodix, Dart Pro 1 or 360, and Pro Topline heads with a Brodix aluminum block only.

This set comes complete with studs, 12-Point nuts and hardened washers. Manufactured from 8740 Chromoly Steel, ARP heat-treats these studs in-house to 190,000 psi tensile strength. Thread rolling after heat-treat creates a fastener that has threads 2000% stronger than others!

STUDS vs. BOLTS

Virtually every top professional engine builder relies on ARP head studs for their all-out competition powerplants, and for good reason!

Heres why: when you use bolts to secure the head, the fastener is actually being twisted while its being torqued to the proper reading. Accordingly, the bolt is reacting to two different forces simultaneously.

Studs also provide more accurate and consistent torque loading. Using studs ensures easier engine assembly, and proper alignment of both the cylinder head and gasket.

Install a stud in a relaxed mode never crank it in tightly using a jammed nut. Always install the stud hand tight! Then, when applying torque to the nut, the stud will stretch only on the vertical axis.
