This ARP 185-5001 Oldsmobile High Performance Main Bolt Kit is for 455 2-bolt main engines. It comes with 180,000 PSI 8740 Chromoly Steel bolts. This is up to 5X stronger than stock! All ARP main bolts feature a reduced wrenching head as well as a large underhead radius.

Rolling the threadsafter heat-treating gives them about 2000% better fatigue strength than most main bolts threaded prior to heat-treating.This provides the utmost in reliability!

Kits come complete with hardened parallel-ground washers. Sold as a set of 10.

Which is better, either main bolts or studs? Studs provide more accurate and consistent torque loading. Using studs ensures easier engine assembly as well as proper alignment.

The popular High Performance Series is rated at 180,000 psi, and is a premium replacement for OEM fasteners.

Pro Series main bolts are application-specific, rated at 190,000 psi, and designed for use in competition engines. Hardened parallel-ground washers included with each kit.
